Episode 10: Ana Bollocks

In Episode 10 of Flat Mat Radio, Kickit chats with Ana Bollocks of Gotham Girls Roller Derby. After a season of retirement, Bollocks is back with the Gotham All-Stars, and she has a lot to say about retiring, returning, derby over 40, and listening to your body.
Ana Bollocks spent her formative years roughhousing with her two older brothers, giving her a foundation in strength and grit that serves her to this day. She spent her junior high and high school years playing travel team soccer, where her aggression helped her win about 90% of 50-50 balls. In 2005 she showed up for an open GGRD practice at the Skate Key in the Bronx, and didn’t stop showing up for the next ten years. She attempted to retire from derby in 2015, but discovered she wasn’t very good at retirement and came back for the 2016 season.
Off the track, Bollocks is an intelligent content strategist for an ecommerce website. In her spare time she likes to see bands, organize and repair her apartment, serially (but fruitlessly) attempt to learn to sew and knit, and stare deeply into the eyes of her dog, Luanne.
